I have a bid in on a 1904 dated carbine which has not been up-dated for a bayo. Walnut stock. Not many pics to go by but seems to be 20-30% blue, no rust. Has the disk & sling buckle on stock....

Dave, if it is a 20-30%, non-matching carbine, it's really just a shooter. There wouldn't be much collector value. I think carbines are neat, but I wouldn't get too carried away.

Good idea. I've wondered similar things- does the rarity of no lug offset the non-matching numbers, in the value, for most collectors? I think $550 sounds high, especially when you add shipping....
